Offshore accounts? I have a question..I was watching and old episode of walker texas ranger with my bestfriend and this man had took all these rich people hostage and gave them all his account number to his off shore a ccount and told them to transfer millions of dollars from their account to his.My question why did he do that?Couldnt the american bank teller just tell the police the account number that they transfer the money to and arrest them?because their also the people that be online that contacts you through our email adresses telling you to give them our account info so they can have access to you account?So,again why or CAN that person be able to be caought even if they are in another country by the account number the money is deposited to,even if its a transfer ofver the computer?Some one please explain this to me and my friend cause we cant figure it out..thanks
Offshore Accounts? If one earns money in an overseas business & pay taxes in that country and then brings the money/profits into the US - is one obligated to pay taxes - if this person is a US citizen
If the taxpayers now own 80% of AIG, does this mean the taxpayers are in control of the AIG offshore accounts? All these companies the taxpayers have bailed out have offshore bank accounts. Why keep on bailing out these banks and companies. Make them use the offshore money. It is legal for these companies to have offshore accounts to avoid the IRS. This hurts the American taxpayers! I've really had enough of the US government putting taxpayer money in these rat holes.
Offshore accounts and tax havens for the average man? As part of my uni course, you hear a lot about offshore bank accounts and companies declaring profits in places that are tax havens. From the newspapers you hear of celebrities who even though the earn millions, they have good accountants who can sort them out paying just 10% tax etc. Is this kind of practice open to average guy? Can you just set up a bank account with offshore places instead of your local highstreet? Why don't more people do that then if that's more profitable? Would you need an accountant to do it for you? If so, what can they do, I can't? Do you need to be a millionaire to have such an account? I really wouldn't know where to start looking into this. What exactly does Offshore Account mea ? I live in UK and have a small flat in Spain. Main reason was owing to ill health when there my condition is much improved. It takes quite a lot to upkeep this and I have only a current account over there to pay necessary bills. Depending on time of year there is usually in sterling £2,000 - £3,000 in this. There is nothing dishonest about this but in recent British TV news it referred to anyone with an Offshore Account having this small amount they are liable to pay approx £500 tax .
