Are offshore Merchant Accounts Legit?

Any input from folks who have or have had offshore merchant accounts would be helpful. Thanks.

1. Surely, the existence of merchant accounts overseas is normal, but I'd be cautious about working with someone who is offering services as an offshore entity unless you're confident they are a legitimate entity. There's lots of room for fraud, going this route.
